K. Ranga Rama Krishnan, MB, ChB

K. Ranga Rama Krishnan, MB, ChB is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Psychopharmacology Bulletin. Dr Krishnan is currently Dean Rush Medical College, Chicago, IL. He was previously Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Duke University and Duke-NUS, Singapore and Dean of Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Singapore. He was co-chair Executive Committee of the Duke NUS Singhealth Academic Medical Center partnership. He is also Chairman of National Medical Research Council.

Dr Krishnan was previously Chair of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke from 1998 to 2009. Dr Krishnan is a member of the Institute of Medicine, National Academy of Sciences. He has received numerous awards and honors for his work including the Laughlin Fellow, American College of Psychiatry, Rafaelsen Award Collegium Internationale Neuro-Psychopharmacologicum (CINP), Brain Behavior Research Foundation National Alliance for Research on Schizophrenia and Depression (NARSAD) Distinguished Investigator Award, Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance DBSA Klerman Award, American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry. (AAGP) Distinguished Scientist Award, Charles Burlingame Award and the American College of Psychiatry Research Award in Geriatric Psychiatry, and the American College of Psychiatry mood disorders research award.

Dr Krishnan has conducted research primarily in the area of late life depression, Bipolar disorder and dementia. He is an authority on the use of imaging in the diagnosis and treatment of mood disorders. He is well recognized for his work establishing the interplay between vascular disease and depression. He has published over 450 articles and numerous chapters.
